SYDNEY -- College football fever landed here on Saturday. Craig Smith Predators Jersey .Australian fans saw a high-flying affair with plenty of points scored between Cal and Hawaii (the Bears won 51-31). But like so many college football game days, the sights and sounds around the contest were just as memorable as what the two teams provided on the field. Here are The Woot and Wye Shows favorite things about the Sydney Cup:1. The Aussie spin on the college football tailgateLicensing laws in Sydney limit a true authentic tailgate experience in the ANZ Stadium complex, however the promoters of the event made up for it with a free tailgate party at a nearby venue called The Brewery. Inside the complex was live music, beer, food trucks, cornhole and more. The atmosphere didnt match that of traditional tailgate, but it was among the best we have experienced in Australia with lots of energy and laughter.2. The obscure fan jerseys Understandably the crowd was not filled with a huge amount of Cal Bears and Hawaii Rainbow Warriors fans, although some diehards did make the trip. The Australian spectators dusted off and pulled out their favorite football jerseys. The most popular being a 49ers Jarryd Hayne jersey, which was easily being worn by over a thousand spectators. Some of our personal favorites included a Jaguars Eugene Monroe jersey, a Joshua Cribbs jersey and these Tim Tebow Florida jerseys.Nothing beats this wife and daughter combo.?3. James Jones-ingThere were way too many people doing this. This is an ugly trend that needs to be stopped. It was 68 degrees Fahrenheit.4. The Cal cannonWe spoke with the cannon operators pregame and the cannon was brought in from a country town five hours from Sydney called Wagga Wagga. The two tests of the cannon pregame were so loud that it actually broke two microphones. The Sydney crowd absolutely loved the cannon, which was fired after every Cal touchdown.5. Food and drinkThe most popular thing during the game was these two-foot long hot dogs. The abnormally large hot dog was in such high demand people queued close to an hour to get their hands on one. Aussies love their food.6. This guyThe Puppeter. No explanation needed.?7. Aisea Tongilavas supportTongilava, a sophomore linebacker for the Cal Bears, had a huge supporter group make the long journey down under. Tongilavas family were the first people we met this morning on the train ride to the stadium and are extremely passionate about football. They were seen throughout the game holding a giant banner in support of Aisea.8. The stadium ran out of beerJust after halftime we started receiving a plethora of tweets from fans who claimed ANZ Stadium had run out of beer. A Defcon 1 scenario for ANZ Stadium. And one more thingIt had everything ... even a marriage proposal. Two Hawaii fans from Adelaide, Australia ,were participating in some halftime entertainment when one of them decided to shake it up a little. PG got down on one knee and asked Emma to marry him. She said yes and the crowd went wild. A moment of love and joy among the beautiful chaos of college football in Sydney. All in all it was a fantastic experience for the people of Australia with many fans leaving the stadium with smiles on their faces and praying to the football gods that football will be back on their shores, sooner rather than later. Ryan Johansen Jersey . Galatasaray said in a statement on its website Monday that Mancini signed a three-year contract and will be paid 3.5 million euros for the upcoming season, with his salary upped to 4. Pekka Rinne Predators Jersey . Scott Kazmir allowed four hits in seven shutout innings, Michael Brantley hit a two-run homer in a three-run first inning and the Indians maintained their hold on an AL wild-card spot with a 4-1 win over the Houston Astros on Saturday night. . Already owning gold from competition in Vancouver in 2010, Loch posted a combined four-run time of 3:27.526. That included a track-record third run of 51. The Colorado Rapids missed a golden opportunity to put the Seattle Sounders in a serious hole in their Western Conference finals showdown on Tuesday. No matter. The Rapids are coming home with a trip to the MLS Cup on the line, and they feel good about their situation heading into Sundays second leg against the Sounders.I feel really comfortable with the mindset of that group in that locker room, Rapids coach Pablo Mastroeni told The Denver Post after the Rapids 2-1 loss in the first leg of the series in Seattle on Tuesday. They understand that were in a better position than we were against L.A.The Rapids lost the first leg of that series, 1-0, but came back to win in kicks a week later to advance. It continued their season of success at Dicks Sporting Goods Park, where they have allowed just seven goals and were just the fifth team in league history to be undefeated at home. Not lost in all this is the fact that the Sounders won Tuesday night and have the edge. They can negate Colorados advantage by scoring at least one goal, something the L.A. Galaxy was unable to do three weeks ago after beating the Rapids at home.Seattle is confident and ready for the challenge.Since weve taken over, theres only one game that we havent scored a goal. Only one, Sounders coach Brian Schmetzer told The Denver Post. So, that changes things. We understand that soccers a fluid game. It could end up 1-0 for them, it could end up 3-1 for us. It could be a variety of scores. I think if you did the math, 1-0 to them, sure; 2-1 is overtime. Theres a loot of scores -- 0-0, 1-1, 2-2 -- a lot of scores go in our favor as well. Colin Wilson Jersey. olorado is playing without star goalkeeper Tim Howard, who was injured playing the U.S. national team between the series against the Galaxy and Seattle. Howard suffered fracture of the right adductor longus, located in the upper groin, and had season-ending surgery on Nov. 17.Zac MacMath started the first leg of the series and is expected to be start Sunday, too.The Sounders were in trouble when Colorados Kevin Doyle scored in the 13th minute Tuesday night, but they quickly responded with Jordan Morris goal in the 20th minute. It stayed tied until the second half when Nicolas Lodeiro made it 2-1 on a penalty kick. Colorado defenseman Marc Burch was called for a foul in the box that led to the kick, but he thought Lodeiro embellished the contact. Its not a penalty, Burch told The Denver Post. Thats pretty much it. I went close to Lodeiro and he fell down, thats it. I dont think flopping in the box is something thats called for. But thats what he did.Seattle held on, and now theyll try to do what nobody has in a long time in Colorado -- get a goal.We have to score a goal down there and its not just sitting back and protecting this 2-1 lead for 90 minutes, Morris told We have to push and go at them. When the game gets tough, we have to continue to try and keep the ball and do the stuff that were good at.
